·         A paragraph about open educational resources (OER): From what I have read, open educational resources are materials that you can find on the internet and use in your classroom for free without having to deal with copyright and creative commons licensing. This includes a variety of resources such as lesson plans, homework assignments, assessments, and many more things that can be accessed on the OER commons website. The journal I found regarding this topic is called OER & Beyond (https://oerandbeyond.org) . This page doesn’t have a ton of OER resources in it, but it is a community where people can go and learn more about open educational resources and give/receive opinions on it.  ·         A paragraph on new skills you acquired from working on Assignment 4: I felt like I learned a lot from Assignment 4 considering it was my first time recording a slideshow like that and trying to save it in that for...

·         Post a link   to your website designed in  Assignment 3 :  https://peytonpclassroom.weebly.com/   ·         A paragraph about your daily use of AI tools: Personally, I do not use AI tools often and I think I have only used it once in my life. That one time was when I was writing a graduation speech and someone told me to have ChatGPT write one for me just to get some ideas and then I could edit it from there. It did end up working really well but I don’t think I have used it since then because I am always scared that if I use it for class I would get in trouble and I would rather just do the work myself. My only motivation to use AI comes from the fact that my research teacher told us that we could look up research topics for our big projects if we couldn’t think anything, but not to use it further than that. Hearing this come from a teacher made me feel better about potentially just usin...

·         A paragraph about teacher pages on a school website:   The school site that I chose to evaluate was my high school, Lake Brantley High School. When going to their website, at the top there are options of whether you are interested in learning more about Academics, Student Life, Athletics, etc.. From there, there is a drop down from each one and the specific one I looked at was the Student Life one which is where I would assume teacher pages would be, and I found options including clubs, leadership options, Student Government, and many more things which is all public information. This is extremely helpful for both students and parents, because when looking into classes and electives that they might want to take or even extra-curriculars, all of the options take you a page with information regarding that specific topic. https://www.lakebrantley.com   ·         A paragraph about how you envision yours...

A paragraph about your initial experiences using Diigo: To be completely honest, when I first started using Diigo I was a little confused, only because it looks like a search page which I didn’t expect. Since I have started using it, though, I have really liked the layout and that you can see other’s post on the main page right when you log on. It is a little different than a normal web tool I would use with the bookmarking and the steps that go into that, but I think I could get used to it overtime. I don’t think there is anything I don’t like about this website, like I said I think I will get used to it overtime.          A paragraph about your experience with blogging: I never really had experience with blogging until this year. Now, I have to posts blog for two different classes which has given me more opportunities to learn about it. Something I like about blogging is that they are all in the same place/page, so I can go back and look at them ...

·         A paragraph about your early experiences using Twitter(X)/Instagram for your Personal Learning Network. - So far I have used Instagram as my Personal Learning Network and it has worked out pretty well for me. Because it is a platform that I am consistently using throughout the day/week, being able to just scroll upon posts from the “teacher influencers” I followed and just observe their lessons or whatever content they have been posting is nice because it just gives me ideas for my future class. I haven’t actually interacted with anyone, but I have just been really paying attention to their posts when they pop up on my feed. This will be good for my future classroom as well because I can just go on social media if I ever need inspiration on décor, activities, lessons, etc., on a commonly used network rather than having to go out of my way to look up ideas on the internet.    ·         A paragr...

·         A paragraph about the ELA technology standards: The standard I chose from this list is “Computer Science- Personal, Community, Global, and Ethical Impact” through grades K-2. This standard highlights the importance of how to properly shut down/log out of your stuff on a computer, the importance of a password to protect everything in your files, how technology is important in the workforce, and how important it is to be aware of everything that goes on online and making sure everyone is being respectful of their peers when using technology. I do think I feel prepared to implement this skill set when I become a teacher because these are pretty basic skills to teach and I know how to work with technology when teaching these things. On top of that, I know how to be a good digital citizen- knowing how to decipher what to and what not to post, keeping some of my files private, reporting cyberbullying if necessary, etc., so I believe I will be able ...
