·         A paragraph about your early experiences using Twitter(X)/Instagram for your Personal Learning Network. - So far I have used Instagram as my Personal Learning Network and it has worked out pretty well for me. Because it is a platform that I am consistently using throughout the day/week, being able to just scroll upon posts from the “teacher influencers” I followed and just observe their lessons or whatever content they have been posting is nice because it just gives me ideas for my future class. I haven’t actually interacted with anyone, but I have just been really paying attention to their posts when they pop up on my feed. This will be good for my future classroom as well because I can just go on social media if I ever need inspiration on décor, activities, lessons, etc., on a commonly used network rather than having to go out of my way to look up ideas on the internet.    ·         A paragr...

·         A paragraph about the ELA technology standards: The standard I chose from this list is “Computer Science- Personal, Community, Global, and Ethical Impact” through grades K-2. This standard highlights the importance of how to properly shut down/log out of your stuff on a computer, the importance of a password to protect everything in your files, how technology is important in the workforce, and how important it is to be aware of everything that goes on online and making sure everyone is being respectful of their peers when using technology. I do think I feel prepared to implement this skill set when I become a teacher because these are pretty basic skills to teach and I know how to work with technology when teaching these things. On top of that, I know how to be a good digital citizen- knowing how to decipher what to and what not to post, keeping some of my files private, reporting cyberbullying if necessary, etc., so I believe I will be able ...

·        Copyright and fair use: o     As a teacher, I imagine dealing with copyright is tricky because you want to use others’ work but also have to give them the credit and not copy too much. I think something I would strive to do is have a lesson plan written out for every week including the curriculum I am required to teach, and then I will go on the internet and research a certain number of activities for that topic of the day/week. Although I might be lazy and want to copy some of the worksheets word for word and print those out, I will alter each of them to be different but with a similar concept to still get the point across. If I am teaching a grade where they have to use other author’s work, I will make sure to teach them how to cite/source properly when needed, but hopefully the children will be at an age where they have more creativity and use their brains to come up with any activities/answers to assignments that are given to the...

-           My experience using MS Word as a kid before college was a pretty smooth experience. I never had any problems when doing assignments and if I did, my teachers would help me immediately. I have always found that word is easily accessible, it is right on my desktop when needed, the tools are easy to use, it’s easy to open new documents, etc.. To this day, as a college student, I prefer using Word over Google Docs and Pages. It is so much easier to keep track of my assignments through MS Word.  -         I personally really liked the article on ISTE Standards for Educators because I think all of the “titles” or descriptions that educators are given should be acknowledged and taught about every now and then so we are reminded of our influence on the students we are teaching. My name is Peyton P and I am from Orlando, FL. I am 19 years old and a student studying Elementary Education at Florida State University. Back home, I have 5 younger brothers who I love with my whole heart- being 4 hours away from them is a struggle for sure. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and outdoors in general, although this weather is a little too cold for me. I hope to teach grades between Kindergarten and 3 rd  Grade! Honestly, I do not have any prior educational technology experience. I have used a MacBook and an IPad to take notes on, but have never really used anything else.
